Concrete slab collapses at Milwaukee lakefront parking garage, killing 1, injuring 2 others
The Milwaukee County sheriff says a concrete slab fell from a Milwaukee lakefront parking ramp, killing one person and injuring two others.
Sheriff David Clarke said the 30-foot slab collapsed Thursday afternoon. He withheld the victims' names, genders and ages, pending notification of relatives.
The collapse was at an entrance to a parking garage a few blocks from Summerfest, which bills itself as the world's largest music festival. The event kicked off its 11-day run Thursday.
